I'm a fan of actually getting a return on my time + energy investment ya feel me?
So if any of these myths that I have quoted are things you believe, then this post will save you time AND help you get results a heck of a lot quicker.
Let's do this...
"I just need some fat-burning" exercises for my abs.”
No, you need to burn enough fat using the proper methodologies, so your superficial (exposed) muscles (like your rectus abdominis or "abs") are visible.
"I'm eating healthy so I should be losing weight."
If you want to be healthy, eat for health. If you want to lose weight, eat to lose weight. Perhaps, it would be best to eat for both.
"It's all about calories in and calories out."
No, it's not. It's about a lot of things.
A caloric deficit is only part of the equation.
"Should I go to the gym, 6 days a week, or 7?"
You should probably go 4 days a week, and murder it in those 4 days. If you're going to the gym 6 days a week for body composition change, you're doing it wrong, unless you have a LOT of muscle.
"I work hard in the gym."
You sure about that? If you really worked as hard as you said you did, you would only need to go four, max five days a week.
"Nah Neal, the gym is my outlet trust me. I can handle it. I need at least five days."
I'm sure you can handle it spiritually and mentally you feel better after (due to an acute neurotransmitter response post-workout), but your body will still secrete adrenal hormones, and the elevated cortisol will limit your progress.
"I'm doing everything you said the past two weeks and I'm not getting results fast enough."
You should have thought of that before you decided to tank your entire health for the last 25 years.
"I need surgery."
Perhaps brain surgery to fix your lack of patience.
Transform your life by transforming your habits.
It all starts within you.
